Bio:
Hilary-Ann Hallett has taught at The Johns Hopkins
University and
Hunter College.
She received her
B.A. in theatre
and English from
New York University
and her Ph.D. in
history from the
C.U.N.Y. Graduate Cente. Her
dissertation,
Land of Sunshine
Out West! The
Rise of Early
Hollywood, is a cultural and social history charting
the development
of America’s
first mass culture
industry. Her
research and
teaching interests
work at the intersection
of women’s
history, popular
and mass culture,
and twentieth
century American
history.
