Cai Barias is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Philippine history at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she researches transnational women’s activism through the frameworks of race, diaspora, and nationalism in the 20th century. She is also involved with public history programs in her local community and online through Filipina on the Rise.  

Additionally, Cai is a program and events coordinator at the Center for American Women and Politics at Rutgers University. In this role, she manages the Ready to Run® program and the Senator Wynona Lipman Chair in Women’s Political Leadership, and provides organizational support for lectures, forums, and educational programs at the Center. She earned her B.A. in History from Barnard College, Columbia University.
