Our faculty consists of scholars engaged in a diverse range of fields including (but not only!) Asian American Studies, Africana Studies, Latinx Studies, Native and Indigenous Studies, Comparative Literature, English, History, Political Science, Religious Studies, and Women's, Gender, & Sexuality Studies. We are part of an important multiperspective dialogue that also informs how our department sees itself in the larger space of the University.

Our faculty members also are actively involved with several professional organizations - American Studies Association, Modern Language Association, the American Folklore Society, American Historical Association, Latin American Studies Association, Organization of American History - as well as international associations and bodies.

These affiliations assure that our faculty members are deeply aware of the topics and debates that affect and shape our profession; furthermore, this awareness brings to bear on the conceptualization and design of our curriculum and our contribution to the liberal arts.
